Hard work under NHL Hockey

Brian Burke jokingly refers to some sort of political future but his real love is the NHL Hockey circuit. His team is certainly making it worthwhile to stay in Hockey. They have had a perfect three start. This is one of the best beginnings to a season in eleven years. The Toronto Maple Leafs have a general manager that is very proud of the efforts that they have made and his pride is not misplaced in any way. They are making the waves and the case for the changes in the team.

Although he might think of running for the mayor post, the team remains his priority and their wins are mulled over with the happy face of a parent. He still remains very pragmatic and jokes that he could become a dog catcher if they lost the next three. The previous season started with absolutely appalling results and this turnaround is something of a miracle. They have been able to go out of their slumber in time but that might not be the case in all the instances. They really need to get their act together or else someone will take over their place. It is early days in the season and it remains to be seen whether they will keep up the momentum.

He has been a general manager for the Hartford Whalers and the Anaheim Ducks. He did some work with the Vancouver Canucks and then had a stint with different jobs before joining Toronto in 2008. He attributes his success to three pillars of rebuilding and it seems that his team has learnt the lessons. They have been able to work with adversity and come up at the top despite the obvious limitations that they face. It is a great heartwarming story for all the people that are interested in these sorts of things. On a serious note the team cannot afford to have such lapses in the future. Their opponents will simply take advantage and go to the top of the league. It is a risk that they need to manage with good effect and an understanding of the game.
