Jannik Hansen Signs Multi Year Deal with Vancouver Canucks

The Vancouver Canucks resigned their forward player Jannik Hansen for a three year period and the signing amount was fixed at $4.05 million. Hansen, who was on the look out for a multi year contract, said that he was happy with the offer that he got from his own team. Vancouver’s general manager Laurence Gilman said that reinstating Hansen was a good decision taken by the team as his playing quality and style will give the Canucks to move forward in the next NHL season. Hansen was happy to be part of every game that Canucks played in the last season and he had struck three goals and made six assists in the playoffs.
Gilman is of the opinion that Hansen has the potential to score 15 to 20 goals in the upcoming NHL season for the Canucks. Hansen skills both in offense as well as in defense earned him a place to play in all the Canucks games last season. Hansen, who was last year picked for $825,000 by the Canucks in negotiation, is happy that his team struck a three year deal with him this time around. This gives him the confidence to fare even better as his future is secured for three years. His career statistics of 24 goals with 41 assists in 189 NHL games needs a little bit of improvement and he is well aware of that. He came into the National Hockey league in 2004.
Hansen was also among the players who had filed for arbitration this time round and was lucky that the Canucks reposed faith in him by giving him a three year stint with the club. Gilman is of the opinion that the players thinking levels are in par with the sophisticated thinking levels of the team management. Sao, it is easy to communicate to the players on what is needed of them by the team. Hansen is one such player who is pretty well aware of what the team wants him to do in the next season. Hansen is sure to make a huge impact for the Vancouver Canucks in the forthcoming season. The Canucks had won the President’s trophy in the last season for a stupendous performance and had the best record of the season. Unfortunately, they could not make it beyond Game 7 in the Stanley Cup final and gifted the trophy to Boston Bruins. This time they are more eager to lay their hands on the Stanley Cup.
